First widely-collected die-cut dual-portrait insert set

Why it matters

The 1992 Score Pinnacle Team Pinnacle subset paired two players in dual-portrait die-cut format. The hockey set's #5 paired Gretzky and Eric Lindros, and the baseball set's #5 paired Roberto Alomar and Ryne Sandberg. Pinnacle expanded the Team Pinnacle concept across baseball, football, and hockey in 1992 and 1993, and the dual-portrait die-cut format was a design template that ran for years afterward.

How to identify

1992-93 Pinnacle Hockey Team Pinnacle #5 card, die-cut with a diagonal split showing Wayne Gretzky in Kings gear on one side and Eric Lindros in Flyers gear on the other. Marked TP5 or #5 depending on set. Distinct from the base Gretzky and Lindros cards in the same product.
