1989 Fleer

3 cards in the JW50

The most-scrutinized error checklist in the hobby.

Fleer's 1989 baseball set is the deepest error checklist of the entire junk-wax era. The Billy Ripken FF and its four correction variants live here. So does the Randy Johnson Marlboro billboard. So does the Griffey rookie. The design, grey-and-red pinstripes, cursive team script, is the most instantly-recognizable look of the decade, largely because collectors spent so many hours squinting at bat knobs and outfield signage.
